We started way back in the early seventies. I know we are basically dating ourselves, but this is the beginning of some great things to come.
I was a musician since the age of 10 and played with some really, now great musicians.
By the time I was 15, I started working on amplifiers, sort of learn as I go. Everything was tubed back then. lucky for me my dad knew something about electronics and that helped. Soon I was being asked to repair everything from amps, guitars to fuzz tones.
At 18 a friend and I decided we just didn't like speaker products out there. So we started to build speaker cabinets for bass players. By this time Cerwin Vega was just hitting the scene. Their 18s were fantastic. But we wanted more. So we started building home stereo speakers. unfortunately the speakers that we could buy for our cabinets, just were not up to the task. Now we started to build our own speakers as well. Hence Peak Audio was born. The name changed a few times over the years. But you know. every now and then I still run across a set of our speakers.
Almost 30 years ago I started my own recording studio.
Back then I engineered everything myself. And on occasion still do. But I was never satisfied with just using things out of the box. I found by using different wires or different techniques I could get a really good sound or mix.
Now the mid 80s I started building solid state (transistor) amps for stereos. Heathkit and Dynaco kits was were I began. To tell you the truth most new amps are pretty much still designed the same way. With a touch of modern technology. The only difference is the $100.000.00 price tag.
Alien Tweak Audio was started because nothing in the audiophile world should cost the price of a house.
If you can afford it more power to you. But for the real world this is unexceptable. Greed plays a major factor and little else. You can get a really great sound out of your system if you take the time to Tweak the system without refinancing your house.
$150.000 dollar turntables? $55,000 dollar 8' speaker cables? and my favorite $15,000 dollar cartridge.Amps speakers, Oh My. So by today's standards you'll need about $500,000 bucks to hear what? Magazine threads just love to tell how wonderful the sound is and justify the price, they do it with such flair.
Alien Tweak Audio can help you without braking the bank or getting a divorce. More bang for your buck! After all, you just want to sit back and listen to your tunes.
We build speaker cables, interconnect cables.resonance control devices, rebuild tonearms and turntables which can rival any $10,000 dollar TT. without the price.
